James E. Rauch is Professor of Economics (Emeritus) at the University of California, San Diego, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).  He is author of The Economics of the Middle East: A Comparative Approach (Oxford University Press, 2019), along with many other books and professional journal articles.
