An educational consultant, poet, and ancestral knowledge protector, Niketa Peters was born on the sacred land of the Lokono (Arawak) peoples, surrounded by many bodies of water and fertile lands. She spent my early years in the waters and forests, absorbing and experiencing the teachings of the nature. The nature-based teachings influenced her education and research interests. Her research interests are anti-colonial thought, African indigeneity, critical pedagogy, spirituality, political healing, and land-based learning. Her practice is focused on critical education, political healing, and revolutionary liberation.
