Zeina Moneer is a specialized academic with extensive research experience in environmental and climate change politics. She holds a PhD from the faculty of Environment and Natural Resources of Freiburg University in Germany. She was a Visiting Scholar to the Institute of Social Ecology of Alpen Adria University in Vienna in 2014 and to the Nordic Africa Institute in Sweden in 2018. She worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment of the American University in Cairo in 2016 and 2017. In 2021, she was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar to New Hampshire University in the USA. In addition to her academic accomplishments, she served as Senior adviser leading and managing environmental and climate change projects and programs that are funded and initiated by numerous EU-funded programs and national and international NGOs. She works as a freelance Climate Journalist covering issues at the intersection of climate change, environmental justice, and green transition. She is the founder of the Network of Climate Justice in the MENA
